Projects

Project work encompasses the manufacturing capacities of all 3 other divisions to provide creative, practical and tailored solutions to everyday manufacturing problems. We use 3D design packages to 'build' virtual machines, and then utilise this information to create drawings for physical manufacture in the workshop. Our competitive edge comes from being a manufacturer as well as designer, so we can design for manufacture rather than just to specification. Moreover, our multi-skilled workshop enables us to offer in-house solutions where the quality, cost and outcomes are controlled to a very high degree.

We Believe In Customer Collaboration

When undertaking project work, we work very closely with you to ensure that you are satisfied with each stage of the project. We encourage you to be involved in any way possible, whether it be through emails, meetings or site visits. We believe that effective and timely communication is a key factor in our success and leads to a superior final product that exceeds expectations. Some of our current projects are listed below:

Eastall Pacman Coil Tilter

Requirements:
The Pacman Style Coil Tilter allows for incremental adjustments in the angle of the coil. Simplifying the operation to push-button controls and incorporating forklift spacers enhances the overall benefits of this machine and reduces the need for cranes and additional personnel.

Summary:
This project required us to modify an existing design for a coil tilter to suit a refined set of operational requirements from the client. The largest modification to our standard coil tilter design was the requirement that the coil be able to be incrementally tilted and stopped at any angle within 90 degrees. This required a 'pacman' style framework to allow for a rolling mechanism to work. We also modified the base of the coil tilter so that it would have built-in forklift tynes. The client can now load and unload the tilter with ease plus easily move it around their production area with a forklift.

Similar to previous projects, we used as many standard components as possible to ensure easy maintenance, and high quality motors and electrical parts sourced locally to avoid costly delays in parts replacement in later years.

Eastall Coil Car System

Requirements:
A hands-free system for moving coils of various sizes from a coil tilter to an uncoiler that is simple to use with controls that can be operated by a single person.

Summary:
The Eastall Coil Car was successfully conceived as a 3D image and trialed on-screen, using video technology, to resolve and minimise prototype problems prior to actual manufacture. The coil car system is based on the use of a coil car and rails to move coils from a coil tilter, to an uncoiler. This innovative design incorporates flexibility through features such as stabilizers to accommodate coils of different heights, and a very simple push-button control system that can be operated by a single person.
